THE THRILLING “DANUBE DAYS” CELEBRATED ALL OVER THE PROJECT PARTNERS’ COUNTRIES

 
 

The “Danube Days” Festivals are organized all over the DANUrB+ project’s partners countries in the period between June 17 and July 10, respecting the Danube Day on June 29.  These events are one of the planned international and interregional networks and activities in the Danube Region, aiming to attract the attention of the general public and to strengthen/promote the cultural cooperation and collaboration between different stakeholders, thus building a common DANUrB Cultural Network.

DANUBE DAY CELEBRATION AND ACTIVITIES IN MOLDOVA NOUA, ROMANIA 25-26.06.2022

 
 

In preparation for the Danube Day, which was celebrated yesterday, the Polytechnic University of Timișoara (UPT) and the Euroland Banat Association from Reșița organized, in the previous weekend, a series of events to mark the moment. Following the principles of the DANUrB+ project, the partners organized several activities dedicated to the community, first of all to the students at the High School from Moldova Nouă.

REGIONAL CONFERENCE – EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN DALJ, CROATIA JUNE 23

 
 

On June 23 the DANUrB+ project partner Nansen Dialogue Centre held a Regional Conference "Educational Potential of Danube Heritage" in Dalj and Vukovar, Croatia. It gathered around 50 participants from 3 countries - Hungary, Croatia, and Serbia, mainly teachers, educators, and other professionals related to the topics of heritage preservation through education.

STUDENT CAMP IN GOLUBAC 21-24 JUNE 2022

 
 

A building camp for students within the international INTERREG “DANUrB+” Project was held in Golubac on June 21-24, 2022. Students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade participated, with the support and assistance of the representatives of local partner – Golubac Municipality: municipal tourist organization, municipal library, and the citizens, as well as with a donation from the “Arhi.pro” private company.

VIDEOCAST WITH STAKEHOLDER AND JOURNALIST MRS. SONYA MACHORSKA IN VIDIN

 
 

"In the Antiquity, the Danube used to be a Border, in the Middle Ages - a Road, and in Modern Times - it is a Bridge between nations". A famous quote from the Vidin stakeholder and journalist Mrs. Sonya Machorska. Her exciting interview is part of our Videocast with stakeholders that the project partners are going to take along the Danube Region. She tells us about a lot of interesting facts of the thousands of years of history, the positive and negative impact of the Danube River, and the many preserved historical and cultural monuments, along with the most well-preserved Bulgarian Fortress - the "Baba Vida" Fortress.

REGIONAL CONFERENCE “DEVELOPMENT POTENTIALS OF THE DANUBE AND THE SMALL DANUBE''

 
 

The DANUrB+ Regional Conference “Development Potentials of the Danube and the Small Danube'' was held on June 14 in Kolárovo, Slovakia. The conference was a bi-lingual event welcoming guests from both sides of the Danube, from Slovakia and Hungary. Representatives of project partners, associated partners, stakeholders, as well as professionals and students were present.

DANURB+ AS PART OF THE NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS FESTIVAL

 
 

DANUrB+ is part of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) between 9 and 12 June, organized by the European Commission. The project partners National Tourism Cluster “Bulgarian Guide” and Budapest University of Technology and Economics are presenting the initiative in the digital world of the Festival as well as on the physical mobile exhibition in various locations along Brussels.

PARTNERS’ MEETING AND SHRINKING CITIES STUDY TOUR IN EASTERN ROMANIA AND BULGARIA, 30.05.–03.06.2022

 
 

Another DANUrB+ Partners’ Meeting and Study Tour was held in Romania within a month time, between 30th May and 3rd June 2022. This time it was in its eastern part, including a day in Silistra, Bulgaria, and it gathered project partners and stakeholders from the 6 nations on the project - Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovakia.

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR KIDS IN CALAFAT, ROMANIA - 12.05.2022

 
 

The National Institute for Research and Development in Tourism (INCDT), Romania organized a workshop for 5th graders from the Independenta Theoretical Highschool at Calafat Municipality. The main goal of the workshop was presenting the values included in the Danube intercultural and local heritage in a friendly and understandable way, with the role of ensuring the prosperity of future generations and raising awareness of local heritage.

PARTNERS REVEAL A STUDY TRIP IN WESTERN ROMANIA, APRIL 26-30, 2022

 
 

A DANUrB+ Partners’ Meeting and Study Trip was held in Western Romania between 26th and 30th April 2022. It gathered project partners and stakeholders from the 6 nations - Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovakia. A Timisoara walking tour was planned as a fresh start for the first day, so the participants could sense the spirit of the city, learn about its rich history and cultural heritage.

"WATERS FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES” CONFERENCE IN ROMANIA

 
 

On 15th April, DANUrB+ and DANUBIAN SMCs projects were disseminated at the “Waters for Sustainable Communities” Conference. Mihaela Hărmănescu and Angelica Stan from the PP - UAUIM ("Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism), were invited to ”Initiatives in Romania” panel to introduce the two projects that outline the relation between professionals and local communities, educational programs, and initiatives along the Danube.

REGIONAL CONFERENCE, WORKSHOPS, AND EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE in MOLDOVA NOUA, MARCH 30-31.03.2022

 
 

The Euroland Banat Association from Resita (EBA) and the Politehnica University of Timișoara (UPT) organized last week the DANUrB+ Regional Conference in the Danube Canyon. During the meeting, joint workshops were organized and an exchange of experience of the actors interested in the development of collaborations together with the international partners along the river, but also in the joint promotion of the Danube area.

WORKSHOP "LOCAL VALUES AND DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL TOURISM IN THE REGION OF VIDIN, BULGARIA"

 
 

DANUrB+ Bulgarian partners – National Tourism Cluster “Bulgarian Guide” and New Bulgarian University, Department of Architecture with the tremendous support of the Associated Partner – Municipality of Vidin, organized the workshop "Local Values and Development of Cultural Tourism in the Region of Vidin, Bulgaria". Held on 31st March 2022, the event focused on the assets of the region, its local values and potential for development.
