08-04-2022
The Euroland Banat Association from Resita (EBA) and the Politehnica University of Timișoara (UPT) organized last week the DANUrB+ Regional Conference in the Danube Canyon. During the meeting, joint workshops were organized and an exchange of experience of the actors interested in the development of collaborations together with the international partners along the river, but also in the joint promotion of the Danube area. Along with the project teams of the two Romanian partners and the Serbian partners from the University of Belgrade, the events were attended by project colleagues from the National Institute for Tourism Research and Development (INCDT), representatives of local public administrations and a number of local actors (NGOs, tourism entrepreneurs, cultural institutions, local producers, tourism representatives, local development agencies, etc.) from Serbia and Romania, located along the Danube, from Bacica/Bacska/Bačka Region to beyond Cazane (Danube Boilers).
Thus, the first day was dedicated to a series of discussions held at the House of Culture of Moldova Noua, where representatives of local authorities and entities had the opportunity to present themselves in an exercise of information exchange and good practices. On this occasion, new connections were established between the participants, as well as the existing links between the actors interested in an efficient cooperation at local, regional or cross-border level in order to capitalize on the Danube's heritage. The next day was set aside for on-site visits to familiarize guests from Serbia with the concrete work of some of the region's stakeholders, as well as with some of the local producers and their products.
The two days of meetings and field visits highlighted the good practices of heritage promotion on both banks of the Danube, encouraging continued cooperation in the DANUrB+ project for educational programs, workshops and student building camps, and stakeholder clusters to be prepared for the next round of European funding programs.
The events held during the two days are part of a series of specific activities, carried out within the DANUrB + project, funded by the European Union, through the Transnational Interreg Danube Program 2014-2020. Their development in good conditions is not only due to the Euroland Banat teams and the Faculty of Architecture, but especially to the local partners, who supported us. Thus, we thank the City Hall, the “Clisura Dunării” Technological High School and the Association “Dunărea” from Moldova Nouă, as well as the Dedina Soba Museum from Radimna, the children and its kind animator.
