Kick-Off-Conference TransDanube.Pearls

The Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia together with the Environment Agency Austria (Lead Partner) has the pleasure to invite you to the Kick-Off-Conference of the EU-funded project TransDanube.Pearls on 1 March 2017 in Belgrade - Agenda

The Danube region is one of the most promising tourism destinations in Europe. Most of the trips to the Danube and within the Danube region are carried out by car, causing negative impacts to the environment and the inhabitants. TransDanube.Pearls aims to implement sustainable mobility in tourism along the Danube by building a network for sustainable mobility.

The conference will be organized back to back with a workshop of THE PEP (Transport-Health- Environment Pan European Programme) Partnership on Cycling hosted by the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection. Invitation

Main topics of the conference will be:

• How to approach the challenge of implementing the concept of sustainable mobility in tourism? Presentation of challenges and good practices from all over Europe
• How to promote cycling (tourism) as a mean of sustainable transport? Opportunities resulting from the TransDanube.Pearls project and the pan-European Master Plan for Cycling Promotion

Representatives from ministries, international organizations and practitioners of sustainable mobility in tourism will give their insights and inputs for discussion.
