MIGRATORY BIRDS FACING RISKS WITHIN THE TBR MDD AREA

Wetlands in the UNESCO 5-country biosphere reserve Mura-Drava-Danube are under increasing threat, leaving migratory birds and human communities at growing risk. Slowly but surely, the wetlands that serve as critical stepping stones along the flyways are disappearing, depriving migratory birds of the pit stops they need to complete their annual round trip and depriving us of our wetland life support systems. Read more about how can we reverse this negative trend.

BIRD MONITORING ON MURA, DRAVA AND DANUBE IN CROATIA

WWF Adria’s external contractor Ivan Grlica, conducted a river bird monitoring in June 2021 on Mura, Drava and Danube in Croatia. The task was not so easy since the water levels on the 3 rivers were unusually high for this month. Because of that, not all river sections were monitored and additional monitoring activities will be needed. Find out more here. Photo: I.Grlica
