EFFORTLESSLY ALONG THE YOUNG DANUBE: VIDEO SHOWS THE HIGHLIGHTS OF E-BIKING IN THE LANDSCAPE PARK

 
 

Tuttlingen. With support of the EU Interreg-project LENA ten additional charging stations for e-bikes were built in the Landscape Park Young Danube – best conditions for an e-bike tour along the young Danube. Nature, culture and history: In the Landscape Park sights along the Danube bike route are close to each other and well connected by a network of 15 e-bike stations.

LENA TENT AT THE INTERNATIONAL DANUBE FESTIVAL 2018

 
 

Project LENA was present at the International Danube Festival 2018 on the 10th July and 15th July, where Danubüro Ulm two different services to the visitors.

RECEIVES GERMAN “PROJEKT NACHHALTIGKEIT 2018” AWARD

 
 

Berlin, Germany, 12th September 2018 — "LENA - Local Economy and Nature Conservation in the Danube Region" receives the German sustainability award for projects: „Projekt Nachhaltigkeit 2018” by the Regional Sustainability Strategies Network (RENN).

EDUCATION FOR BREEDERS OF BLACK SLAVONIAN PIGS IN VUKOVAR SRIJEM COUNTY

 
 

This September (19.-29.09.) in Vukovar Srijem County were held the last group of education for breeders and potential breeders of black Slavonian pigs as part of LENA project. This last group was settled in Municipality of Babina Greda, the most western Municipality of Vukovar Srijem County.

DANUBE GUIDE TRAINING IN VUKOVAR-SRIJEM COUNTY

 
 

This autumn (September and October.) in Vukovar Srijem County was held Danube Guide Course. It was organized in four modules and every module lasts for three days. On this Course were 14 participants for which two Danube Guide Trainers, who past Course for trainers in April in Austria, held presentations. Also on three of these four modules Christian Baumgartner, person responsible for Danube Guide activities, was guest.

DANUBE GUIDE TRAINING IN ROUSE, BULGARIA

 
 

The first Module from the Bulgarian Danube guide course took place in Rouse city from 25 to 27 October 2018. In the course participated 12 guides, which will be certified as part of the Danube guide´s network if they complete the course successfully.

TRAINING PROGRAMME IN SZATMÁR-BEREG, HUNGARY: COLLECTION OF WILD FRUITS

 
 

In the frame of project LENA, practical training on collecting and processing of wild plants and fruits has begun in Szatmár-Bereg, Hungary. Firstly, participants have attended theory lessons on different wild plants, how to collect them without harming the nature. After the theoretical studies, a field demonstration was held, where participants had the opportunity to see the collection in practice.

PROJECT LENA IN THE RADIO AND TELEVISION OF PORTUGAL

 
 

Radio and Television of Portugal has released a video about Comana Nature Park and Giurgiu County Council, our partners in project LENA, on the occasion of the National Centennial Day of Romania, related to the Reconstruction of Comana Lake and Rehabilitation of Comana Monastery (EU Commission). The shooting has been carried out during LENA WP4-Danube Guide Course.

CIOCĂNEȘTI DANUBE, THE NEW CYCLO-TOURISM DESTINATION IN CĂLĂRAȘI

 
 

WWF-Romania together with Outhentic Cycling Romania have inaugurated 5 cycling routes around one of the most important natural protected areas in Călărași County: Ciocănești Danube. Ciocănești the Danube is one of Natura 2000 protected natural areas designated by Romania for the protection of wetland species. In the last 10 years, WWF-Romania has worked with the local community to develop a series of mechanisms to help it achieve well-being while respecting the principles of a sustainable life.

EUROPEAN YEAR OF CULTURAL HERITAGE IN ROMANIA

 
 

Project LENA was present at the Forum "European Year of Cultural Heritage in Romania" through the representatives of the Giurgiu County Council and Comana Natural Park. The forum took place between 28 and 29 November 2018 in Bucharest.

PROJECT PARTNERS MEET IN BUDAPEST TO DISCUSS THE FINAL STEPS AHEAD

 
 

Budapest, December 2018 – Close to the end of the second year of implementation of the DTP INTERREG-Project LENA "Local Economy and Nature Conservation in the Danube Region" all project partners met to review their implemented activities and coordinate the final steps ahead.
