ECO KARST - Kalkalpen National Park, declared as UNESCO world natural heritage on 7.7.2017

We are happy to share the news that about 5.400 hectares within Kalkalpen National Park had been declared as a UNESCO world natural heritage on Friday, 7.7.2017. This is the first and only Austrian world natural heritage! NPK is now a part of UNESCO world heritage "Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe".

This is just perfect timing as National park Kalkalpen celebrates it's 20th anniversary on 23rd July 2017.
