LOST SECESSION

The film LOST SESSION follows the fate of seven Art Nouveau buildings that have been ruined in the immediate past - although they all enjoyed protection under the Cultural Properties Law. The thread that connects them is the architecture professor Viktorija Aladžić - who dedicated her scientific, university, and teaching career to preserve Art Nouveau heritage in the province of  Vojvodina.

The film was produced by the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments and RANČ PRODUCTION from Belgrade based on the motifs of the book Subotica that is disappearing and other works by Viktorija Aladžić. The original music for the film is composed by Mićun Jauković, the executive producer is Srđa Vučo, and the narrator is Bojan Žirović. Viktorija Aladžić and Vladimir Džamić adapted the story for the film. The screenwriter is Vladimir Vuletić, while the photography, editing, and direction are by award-winning young director Luka Papić.

The film can be watched with English, French, German and Hungarian subtitles.

The film LOST SECESSION is the result of the Republic Institute's active participation in the international project ART NOUVEAU2 - Strengthening the cultural identity of the Danube region by building on common heritage of Art Nouveau (2020-2022). The project was financed within the Danube Transnational Program of the European Union with the participation of partners from several European countries (Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia). In addition, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia participated in the ART NOUVEAU2 project as an associate partner.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
