SaveGREEN - Extrovert animals caught on camera at the Slovakian pilot area
12-10-2022
Do you know selfies? Our visitors at the Novohrad pilot area of SaveGREEN certainly do. I didn't want to use selfies for a long time, but it "got me". Especially in cases where a person travels alone and wants to send nice photos to loved ones. The selfie has become a part of us. Nowadays, it is used on a daily basis by people of all ages. Some of the older people used to tease me, saying "You're young and not going with the times like us who didn't grow up at this time?" I admit, they were right. However, what surprises me much more is that not only older people use selfies, but also our neighbours from nature like to take one. And why not, when we provided them with this opportunity?
As part of the SaveGREEN project, migration corridors are being monitored in the Novohrad - Nógrád pilot area, which, in addition to regular physical visits, also includes monitoring using the photo traps. Sorting photos often tomes brings very funny situations, so we have decided to bring part of the "animal selfie" life to you. You will certainly know this from your own life. Someone has been trying for a perfect selfie for a very long time. Someone tries and tries, but in the end, they give it up concluding that selfie is not their strong point. Some try it indefinitely and some are simply natural talents. Do you know these types of people? Are your friends like that? I can show you our animal friends from the monitoring sites!
First, I present to you our tireless selfie maniacs, constantly trying, but so far not a single photo shot has been good. The main role played by "tits":
We also have a demonstration of daredevils who have decided to push their boundaries further and improve their selfie photo and bring in some visual experience. Starring: "fox and deer".
However, we must not forget those with natural talent who don’t have to do anything. They don't have to take photos over and over again. It's just based on their nature. Will you guess what species they are? I will help you. It’s the one with a majestic crown on his head. But it's not just that one, other species are catching up with him uncompromisingly.
We must not miss the group “What? Are we taking pictures already? I am not ready yet!
And here’s a cherry on top of a cake for you. Do you know the filters we put on our selfie photos? Of course, you know them. However, it certainly did not occur to you that coincidence, technology and nature together can conjure a perfect filter and change photos of our main actors into a work of art. Take a look:
Who said nature conservation is boring? We enjoy and love our work, and that is why we would like to preserve its wonders for as long as possible. This is why SaveGREEN project result and the legacy of the GREEN trilogy projects (TRANS and ConnectGREEN) are so important in helping to mainstream ecological connectivity and habitat protection.
Follow the project journey at its last period and find out our project results! See you at the final conference in Vienna!
