Danube´s Archaeological eLandscapes - Mobility Action "Landscape Narratives" in Bulgaria

04-10-2022

The mobility action in Rousse was organized by the Rousse Regional Museum of History and took place from 17th to 19th June 2022. The heart of the mobility campaign was the presentation event and discussion round entitled "Landscape Narratives". The forum provided an opportunity for local researchers, stakeholders as well as members of the other project partners to present their latest research and discuss options for further developing the narrative related to the specificities of the archaeological landscapes. The opportunity was also taken to present the opened virtual space in Rousse, elaborated by the project "Danube's Archaeological eLandscapes".

The mobility action focused on the specificities of cultural heritage related to archaeology in the area of North-Eastern Bulgaria but also included examples and good practices from the area of the Danube region. These are elements from the Danube Roman Limes, from the canyon in the valley of the river Rusenski Lom, where the churches are in caves, and from urban spaces where archaeology intersects with urban planning. Cultural landscapes, as an element of cultural heritage, play an essential role in the development of society today, as they become an element of local identity.

The narratives associated with them became the basis that allowed us to create a better interpretation to ensure a sustainable process of heritage sharing.
