DANUrB+ - A Great Synergy between DANUrB+ and RESTART_4Danube Projects

26-09-2022

A great synergy between DANUrB+ and RESTART_4Danube became evident at the Regional Conference “Creative Danube. Connectivity - The Key to Overcoming the Shrinkage” in Vidin - Calafat. Тhe collaboration between the two sister projects was possible thanks to the established relationship between the partners on both sides – National Tourism Cluster “Bulgarian Guide” (DANUrB+) and SC IPA SA CIFATT Craiova (RESTART_4Danube). The RESTART_4Danube partner held a great presentation: “New Spaces for Experimentation, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship in CCI Sector Local Action Plan”. The display on the screen introduced the participants 4 projects that have been defined to be part (together with a short description and necessary actions) of the Local Action Plan for Craiova, Romania, including:

  1. Centre for technology and business incubation, in the creative and cultural industry sector;
  2. Museum of Science and Technology;
  3. Industrial Park for software and new technologies;
  4. Museum of the Oltenian village and popular traditions.

Here is a little further information about RESTART_4Danube project itself:

17 project partners have already been working together for two years to tackle several problems the Danube region faces.

To address the lack of cooperation at different levels (public/private, transnational, between CCI and industry), the consortium aims to create synergies and encourage (smoother) cooperation. To do so, it has organized a series of local and international workshops bringing different stakeholders together. It is also currently running an international creative competition and implementing local action plans in 5 middle-sized Danube cities. Moreover, until the end of the project in December 2022, RESTART_4Danube wants to establish a network of creative hubs.

Cities in the Danube region are also facing insufficient coordination at institutional level. Here, RESTART_4Danube is supporting policy makers through tailored policy recommendations supporting creative and sustainable urban regeneration, a common transnational strategy and targeted trainings on how to facilitate the involvement of cultural and creative industries in urban regeneration.

Finally, in order to improve and strengthen the innovation capacities of SMEs in the cultural and creative sectors, the consortium performed readiness level audits and encouraged cooperation agreements (via matching of service offers and service requests).
