Transdanube Travel Stories - Danube Competence Center at the 43rd International Tourism Fair in Belgrade

During the 43rd International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, with the overarching theme of sustainable development of tourism in the Danube region, under the slogan "Meet the Romans", DCC presented the experience of virtual travel along with the Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route, one of the forty certified cultural routes of the Council of Europe. Visiting specially designed VR corners, virtual travellers were able to experience archaeological sites, destinations, events of spectacular battles and cultural events with costumed participants using the latest 360 VR technology. For business participants, DCC organized two workshops: "From idea to product - Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route" - the workshop was attended by interested parties, and travel organizers, from 7 countries in the region (Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, BiH, Montenegro, Albania and Northern Macedonia); and "Danube Riviera - Culture, nature, gastronomy", presentation of tourist potentials of Djerdap -  the meeting point of international cultural and cycling routes - Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route and EuroVelo 6.

In order to further develop the tourist capacities of Roman Emperors and the Danube Wine Route, the DCC team plan to visit Alba Iulia, aiming at developing the first pilot cross-border tourist packages.
