On the 23 and 24th of May 2022 the third tabletop exercise was held in Brčko (BA). It gathered around 30 participants from the institutions Bosnia and Herzegovina which lead and manage the response action in case of accidental pollution and floods. The existing procedures of exchange of information, establishment of headquarters, activation of forces, command system protocols, transnational exchange of information were verified and supported by the new platform and tools which would be proposed by the WACOM project. The first day scenario was focused to the main accidental even accidental pollution event in case of spilling of large quantity of oil from the lorry at the location of Zvornik (BA) on the Drina River (HR). On the second day the scenario described the floods in the areas of Drina and Sava Rivers.

Upon the opinion of the participants simulation exercises conducted in Brcko were important for enhancement of protection and rescue systems in all configurations such as civil protection, flood defense management, river navigation management, and for their employees. The exercises were based on realistic scenarios and historical experiences, as well enabled expert discussion on key issues and challenges of cooperation, coordination, and emergency communications.
