A serie of national workshops on monitoring and inventorying of hazardous substances pollution will be organised in the coming months in different Danube River Basin countries particiating in the project. These workshops target national experts and its general focus will be on:

i) innovative smart monitoring strategies for the effective assessment of concentrations and loads through different emissions
pathways and in rivers, as well as for assessment of the chemical status of water bodies,

ii) enhancing the understanding of the concepts, approaches and methodologies to develop harmonised inventories for
hazardous substances emissions, which are requested by the Water Framework Directive.
