SABRINA - PROJECT PLANS AND RESULTS PRESENTED TO SLOVENIAN MINISTER FOR DEVELOPMENT AND EU COHESION POLICY

07-03-2022

Project SABRINA continues with successful promotion and awareness-raising amongst different stakeholders and decision-makers. In mid-February, our project partner the Municipality Ilirska Bistrica in Slovenia hosted Zvonko Černač, Slovenian Minister without Portfolio for Development and EU Cohesion Policy.

During his visit, the minister learned about different Interreg projects where Municipality Ilirska Bistrica is a project partner. Besides the project SABRINA, these are projects CROSSMOBY and D-care, contributing to sustainable mobility and focusing on smart care for people over 55 years of age respectively. We cooperated with both projects already during last year’s European Mobility Week in Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenia

In the framework of the SABRINA project, the main project goals and safety inspections of EuroVelo routes in Slovenia were presented to the minister as well as the planned route for the missing link from Ilirska Bistrica to Kozina. The minister was pleased to see the involvement of the municipality in different projects and was excited about the SABRINA results which would be an important source of information when improving the existing or building new cycling infrastructure in Slovenia and the whole Danube area. He also praised the creation of a special department for drawing European funds at the municipality and gave guidelines on how this can be done even more effectively for the benefit of the regional population in the future.
