New name for the future EU funding programme for cooperation in the Danube region

14-01-2022
What’s the Danube Region Programme? It’s a new name chosen for the next cycle of the European Union funding for transnational cooperation in the Danube region in the period 2021-2027!

The new name, approved by the Danube Partner States representatives at the 10th Task Force meeting in December, marks another step in our endeavour towards closer unity and cooperation. To achieve that in a lasting way, we will bring the programme closer to citizens. So next to continuity with the past, the new name serves as a symbol of a new departure with a new beginning.

But Danube Region Programme is not only a name that fits the programme’s new orientation towards building people-to-people bridges. It is a name that better reflects growing overlaps between the funding programme and the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

So what’s the Danube Region Programme? A a start of a new adventure!  An EU funding programme, aiming at creating a smarter, greener, more social and better cooperating shared “Danubian” space.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
