Lecture was designed to educate nurses at Pediatric department of University Medical Center Maribor and to raise the awareness about celiac disease among health care professionals.

Martina Klemenak, MD, PhD explained facts about celiac disease: its incidence, pathophysiology, clinical picture, diagnostic workup and treatment, with special attention to gluten-free diet and how non-adherence to the diet can lead to serious complications of the disease. Moreover, cases of patients with celiac disease were described. CD SKILL project was promoted.
