Amazing AoE - Networking event and UNESCO 5-country Biosphere Reserve Mura-Drava-Danube

03-11-2021

We are very proud and happy the International Co-ordinating Council of the UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme (UNESCO MAB-ICC) designated the Mura-Drava-Danube Transboundary Biosphere Reserve (TBR MDD) as the world’s first 5-country biosphere reserve. Stretching across Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Serbia, the reserve covers a total area of 930,000 hectares extending along 700km of the Mura, Drava and Danube rivers, which makes it the largest riverine biosphere reserve in Europe.

In the beginning of October we had successful networking event in Moravske Toplice, Slovenia, with networking of professional stakeholders across Europe and within the Amazon of Europe. During networking event project partners and interested stakeholders presented themselves, discussed cooperation opportunities with each other and exchanged many examples of good practices.

We are really proud that our project will contribute to the development of the UNESCO 5-country Biosphere Reserve Mura-Drava-Danube and we would like to sincerely thank every person who contributed to the success of the project.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
