Within the Danube Transnational Programme STRIDE project, the CENER 21 project team successfully presented the research and scientific paper, which served also as the STRIDE first project report on the “Analysis of the potential for the introduction of smart grid systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

The scientific paper was presented at the 36th International Energy Conference 2021 in Zlatibor, Serbia. The annual conference was attended by about 120 participants, mostly experts from the energy sector.

The CENER 21 team introduced the participants to the concept of the STRIDE project, and the importance of smart grids in the power industry. The presented results were related to:

• Production and consumption of electricity from RES in the observed pilot Region;
• Objectives and plans for the development of RES and DER in the electricity system in the Region;
• Current assessment of smart grid sector development;
• Main challenges and barriers and
• Guidelines for future power grid development

The conference was attended by some relevant stakeholders within the STRIDE project, including the president and members of the Energy Regulatory Commission of FBiH - FERK as well as representatives of Public Enterprise EP BiH.

The CENER 21 team established excellent communication and conducted several important conversations with FERK representatives. As a resulting of the networking and international dissemination of the STRIDE project, a joint meeting has been agreed to take place at FERK's premises in the coming period.

The paper will be published in the scientific journal "Energy, Economy, Ecology" (ISSN: 0354-8651) and the international journal from the CSI list "International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems" (ISSN: 0142-0615):
