Danube Energy+ - Micromobility and the Green Deal: a Maturing Industry Fit to Tackle Local and Global Challenges?

25-05-2021

InnoEnergy, Germany, the lead partner in the Danube Energy + project, invites young innovators and experts to take part in an online event on the 27th May from 9.00 to 10.30 titled "Micromobility and the Green Deal: a Maturing Industry Fit to Tackle Local and Global Challenges?" jointly organised by EIT Urban Mobility and EIT InnoEnergy.

While the European Commission is assessing Member States’ Recovery and Resilience Plans, made to build forward better our economy, and ahead of the release of the "Fit-for-55" Package, this event intends to steer the debate about the challenges, the opportunities, and the necessary enabling framework for micromobility to make its place in multimodal urban transport systems and contribute to provide more sustainable, inclusive, affordable and accessible mobility solutions to all Europeans. This will be the occasion to hear the views of Ciarán Cuffe (Member of the ITRE and TRAN Committees of the European Parliament) and Matthew Baldwin (Deputy Director-General of DG MOVE) on the role of micromobility in achieving climate neutrality by 2050, and on the upcoming EU initiatives that could facilitate the deployment of such mobility solutions.

After these two keynote speeches, a moderated panel discussion will take place between representatives from Micro-Mobility for Europe, Eurocities, EIT Urban Mobility, EIT InnoEnergy and the European Investment Bank.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
