Slovak Minister of Transport Andrej Dolezal announced that the Slovak National Recovery Plan envisages 600 million euros for the modernization of railway infrastructure, 100 million euros for the support of bicycle transport and 50 million euros for electromobility (especially in public passenger transport). Railway stations should become transfer centres, connected to the public transport and bicycle traffic. From the package for the renovation of buildings, an additional 200 million euros should therefore go to the renovation of railway station buildings.

Minister Doležal also called on local governments to prepare projects for bicycle transport. He also stressed that during the construction or modernization of road infrastructure the state administration (motorways, expressways, 1st class roads) should always be considering in the given section cycle paths.

Investments in bicycle transport in connection with the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) are also planned by other European countries. A recent statement by the Romanian Minister of European Investments and Projects, supported the mayors of Romanian cities in preparing projects. According to him, City Mayors should use the National Recovery and Resilience Plan to ask for money for the construction and modernization of bicycle infrastructure.

Hungary has previously set aside HUF 4 billion (more than 11 million euros) to create a plan for a network of regional cycle paths in the country.
