A stakeholder meeting was held on 26 October 2020 in BistreČ›, (Romania) organized by the WWF Romania. The concept and results of this workshop is contributing to the technical solutions for floodplain restoration in BistreČ› (part of feasibility study) using the ecosystems services assessment for different scenario, as it is foreseen in WP4. All the requirements to avoid spreading the SARS COV-2 virus have been implemented: limited number of participants, large space for meeting, etc.

The workshop has been led by the consultant hired to perform the assessment of ecosystem services for the pilot area. The participants, local people, identified the benefits (goods and services) provided by the floodplain as it was in the past and in nowadays situation. Also, to get the general impression of the importance of different ecosystem services a hierarchy has been done by voting the most important ecosystem services. Additionally, a method to highlight trade-offs among different ecosystem services has been applied. All the information and inputs collected during the workshop are important elements in assessing and valuing the ecosystem services.

The second part of the discussion with local participants and representatives of BistreČ› Mayoralty has been focused on verifying the feasibility of the technical solutions from land ownership perspective. Thus, the discussion on identifying the local community own territory on cadastral maps (also historical map) has been initiated and the preliminary information have been already provided.
