WOMEN IN BUSINESS - 4TH NATIONAL STAKEHOLDERS GROUP MEETING IN SLOVENIA

21-05-2020

The 4th national stakeholders group meeting in Slovenia was a little bit different as national stakeholders and project partners met online due to coronavirus, but at the same time, by now the group became really constructive place for exchange on issues related to women entrepreneurship in Slovenia. The meeting took place on the 14th May 2020.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Štajerska (SGZ) hosted the meeting together with the Maribor Development Agency (MRA), which covered the presentation of draft policy agenda, while specifically focusing on policy recommendations. SGZ  presented the activities concerning first pilot action (recruitment process, implementation process, influence of COVID-19, etc.).

No doubt, the debate was mostly related with the influence of coronavirus on gender equality. One could notice, even from the project survey for young women entrepreneurs who participate at the online pilot training, that the work-life balance became even greater burden for women. In addition, sectors predominantly occupied by women are significantly affected by coronavirus crisis measures. Therefore, stakeholders agreed this “new reality” must be considered in future project activities such as 2nd pilot testing and policy recommendations; regulation related to digitalization, work from home and work-life balance should be revised as soon as possible.
