On 9 December Ruth Ellen Gruber the coordinator of the Jewish Heritage Europe portal was our guest in Szeged. She told us it was quite a while since she had been to Szeged, but it was good to be back. We walk around the city center on our way to the Jewish Community. Anna Szentgyörgyi, project manager of Rediscover project, talked about the buildings built by prominent Jewish citizens after the Great Flood in Szeged.
After we met István Buk, the president of the JC, we visited the synagogue and talked about the exterior renovation, the missing work, the condition of the inside. We talked about the funding possibilities to complete the renovation of the whole building in and out. Finally we sat down to talk a bit about the anniversary of Lipót Baumhorn’s birth next year. Ruth was curious about the exhibition we are planning to realize and she gave us useful tips how to make the exhibition richer and more valuable.
