MEASURES - Coordination meeting – June 25th 2019, Vienna

28-06-2019

After one year through our endeavour, the “Sturgeon Team” gathered at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) headquarters in Vienna to summarize the achievements and further planning of the remaining two years of project implementation.

We were glad to acknowledge important project checkpoints, which are in the final stage, and to count strategical on-field performance. The agenda included the main topics encountered in each specific region, but also a better funds planning in general.

Although in some cases independent external factors like: the Danube high water level, governmental restrictions, or equipment cost variables, were delaying factors for activities such as field measures and tests, the approach was positive and solutions were implemented in order to reach the correct project forecast.

Furthermore, in a united effort with the World Fish Migration Fundation we plan to rise the public level of awareness by new emotion-oriented live actions at 2020 World Fish Migration Day that will take place on May 16th next year.

As for the upcoming events we’d like to send the good vibes to Bulgaria where our colleagues will raise attention to the sturgeon cause, this week, in a sports event. More to come in the near future regarding this action.

We are looking forward to measuring many healthy thriving sturgeons in the Danube river!
