Representatives of the Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems attended the symposium organized by Schiffer-Berufskolleg RHEIN in Duisburg and celebrating 45 years of simulator use in education and training of inland navigation personnel. 

The agenda included among other topics Joachim Zöllner’s presentation of latest news on Technical development in IWT – Minimising fuel consumption and an introduction to the New EU-Directive and its Effects on the German IWT made by Ulrike Schol, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. Participants were offered extensive information on the training programmes of exhibitors - various IWT education and training institutions and also had the opportunity to visit the Shallow-Water Navigation Simulator SANDRA.
