Sediment is an important and upcoming issue for water management in the Danube River Basin. This is why the newest issue of the ICPDR magazine Danube Watch highlights the topic of sediment management! The DanubeSediment project team has contributed to the content of this issue with several articles:
- The Budapest University of Technology and Economics/BME introduces sediment and describes its relevance (see "Letter to the Reader", pg. 3).
- The importance of transnational cooperation for the basin-wide management of sediments is explained by the Bavarian Environment Agency/LfU (pg. 6-7)
- The (dis)balance of sediments in the Danube River Basin is discussed in the frame of first project results in an article by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna/BOKU (pg. 10-11).
