MOVECO - TRANSNATIONAL STRATEGY PUBLISHED
21-05-2019
One of our MOVECO project results is the Transnational Strategy to accelerate transition towards a circular economy in the Danube region. We hope that you enjoy reading this publication!
Here is a short summary: Be transnational – reducing disparities within the Danube Region can only happen through cooperation, capacity building and knowledge exchange across borders. This holds also true for the implementation of the circular economy to make the Danube Region, as a resource poor region, less dependent on imported primary resources. MOVECO identified key challenges with regard to the transition towards a circular economy and offers recommendations for progress. The strategy further provides you with many good practice examples and possibilities to raise awareness for circular economy. Read more here…
The Transnational Strategy was presented during the MOVECO Final Conference on the 14th of May 2019 in Linz, the last project meeting. If you are interested in more project results and background information, read our results’ section.
The circular economy in a nutshell
In contrast to the traditional, linear, throwaway economy, in the circular economy, we design and create products that are easy to share, lease, reuse, repair, refurbish and recycle, while using regenerative resources and renewable energy. The goal is to minimise waste and to keep products and resources in the economy for as long as possible. Ideally, this win-win approach benefits both the economy and the environment.
