DA-SPACE - 2ND LOCAL DEMO DAY AT UNIVERSITY OF GALAȚI, ROMANIA

21-05-2019

On March 28th the Open Innovation Lab from “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati (UDJG OI Lab) gathered together 46 young talents, project team members, jury members and representatives of local media at the Faculty of Engineering (room D12) for the local Demo Day – the final event of the 2nd cycle of the entrepreneurship training, within the DA-SPACE project.

The local Demo Day brought interactive presentations of innovative ideas addressing nine seekers’ challenges (six being developed by private companies, one by a local authority and two by a research centre). One challenge has been approached by three teams of solvers and one challenge by two teams. All these led to twelve by co-creation projects, eleven being presented during the event. Building on the innovative solutions to the challenges, the local Demo Day was a chance for the teams of solvers to put their solutions on display and outline how they can contribute to the awareness of UDJG OI Lab in the Romanian innovation ecosystem.

The team who won the local Demo Day presented an innovative solution to the challenge “Bee Hive Monitorring System using for computing”. The seeker (SOFT TEHNICA srl, Romania) was proud to collaborate with such talented and dedicated solvers from BzzWatchers team (Ștefania CANTARAGIU, Elena Valentina DUMITRAȘCU, Alin Alexandru ȘERBAN and Mihai VIDRAȘCU, students at Bucharest Politechnica University). This team represented UDJG OI Lab and Romania at the International Demo Day, organised by TESTFELD ULM OI Lab - Germany, at Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm, in Germany, on 14th May 2019.

UDJG Open Innovation Lab looks forward to being a catalyst for future collaborations between academia, business actors and public institutions and remains confident that organizing such contests beyond the project will encourage more seekers and solvers to share their innovative ideas and solutions.
