Development Center of the Heart of Slovenia organized the first workshop for companies operating in the wood industry in the Heart of Slovenia. The purpose of the workshop was to promote RRI, increase innovation, share experiences on R&I activities, upgrading the mind-set to create modern and innovative products with higher added value and responsibility to the environment. At the same time, the workshop was also conducted with the desire to establish new connections between interested partners and to strengthen concrete ideas and products for the field of tourism.

The participants emphasised numerous opportunities for wood companies in the local environment in connection with tourism and responsible innovation. As a good practice, the Adventure Park Geoss was presented, which in its operation follows the principles of sustainability, coexistence with nature, environmental responsibility and local community.

The meeting took place in the framework of the D-STIR project, the partner of which is the Development Center of the Heart of Slovenia. The project encourages businesses to engage in responsible research and innovation. To this end, the Development Center will organize numerous other workshops and meetings. The next one will be held on May 29, 2019 in Velika Preska. The content will be aimed at strengthening the capacity to use EU funds, by promotion several R&I calls, finding innovative ideas for new products in the field of wood and tourism.
