D2C - Collaboration of projects in the Pilot region 1 discussed

16-04-2019

Networking of projects is important part of the both the Danube Transnational Programme and the D2C project. That is why Melanie Kreutz and Dr. Martin Kuba (BUND Bavaria, the D2C Lead Partner) visited the Interreg A project Set-up of sustainable stock of young-mussles in Natura 2000 areas at the European Green Belt Bavaria-Czech Republic. The partners of this project (among them the regional branch of BUND Naturschutz) are setting up a breeding station for the threatened freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) to consolidate and enhance the stocks in this region. Furthermore trans-border measures are taken to ensure waterquality for the endangered species.
Freshwater pearl mussel is also one of the topics in D2C´s Pilot Region 1. Thus, both organizations discussed and agreed close cooperation between the participating countries as the major key for a successful project-implementation.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
