RADAR - RADAR Road Safety Trainings will start in Slovenia

19-03-2019

Within the framework of the RADAR project, Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Slovenia (AMZS) will carry out a three-day training of engineers, road designers, other experts involved in roads and traffic, licensed road safety auditors, as well as representatives of road authorities, who are responsible for road design, management and maintenance, on March 22, 25 and 26, 2019.

RADAR Road Safety Training acknowledged by the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers

The 3-day road safety training courses have been acknowledged by the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers ‘IZS’, for licensed engineers in the process of renewing their IZS licenses, gaining 2 credit points for each day of participation. IZS licensed engineers are requested to attend continuous education through professional programs, seminars and training.

The main theme of 3-day training course will be the safe road infrastructure and its added value in ensuring road safety.

Road Safety Training will:

  • Analyse the road safety data that highlights the scale of the problem of road trauma in the region;
  • Demonstrate the methods and data required and for ranking infrastructure road safety priorities in each country of the Danube area;
  • Present and explain the road design features that can reduce the frequency and severity of road crashes;
  • Train local experts on how to perform road surveys and perform road safety analysis in ViDA software (vida.irap.org)

The RADAR project builds on the South East Neighborhood Safe Routes project, which enabled wide implementation of iRAP / EuroRAP Road Assessment procedures. Today they are implemented in more than 80 countries around the world. EuroRAP assessment of road safety and road safety parameters is a complementary programme to EuroNCAP programme that assesses the safety features of vehicles.

RADAR Road Safety Training deployed in ten countries

3-day in-person training with additional two days of webinar courses will be deployed in Hungary, Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Austria and Czech Republic in the period from March to November 2019.
