EcoInn Danube - Scrubber –the liquid chemisorption air washer

05-03-2019

A significant improvement in the efficiency of existing air purifiers is sought by the liquid chemisorption Scrubber, the so-called air washer, which is the result of cooperation between the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the BUT with MVB Opava.

When something released into the water, a footprint is usually created so everybody pays attention. On the other hand, the air is very difficult to protect. Therefore, clean air, both chemical and dusty, needs to be patrolled and we should invest in it, “says Tomáš Svěrák, the spiritual father of Scrubber. The Scrubber achieves the effect in a relatively simple way. “We create a solution film, through which the air passes, and this leads to cleaning it. At the same time, we are trying to achieve an optimal quality of air-liquid contact, “explains Svěrák.

"The efficiency of the current Scrubber is about 50 % and we are able to increase this to 90 %," says Svěrák. Two years ago, the first variant of this device was successfully installed at the largest drug maker in Ukraine, PJSC Farmak, where it cleans all exhales of extensive chemical production. “On the contrary, we want to make the Scrubber small that anyone can buy for a reasonable amount of money. Our main idea is that the Scrubber will be someday on every house,” explains Svěrák his future vision.
