Zagreb Master Class on Dementia is one of the master classes in this field organized in the Balkan region with the aim to advance dementia care. The objectives of these Dementia Master Classes are to stimulate interprofessional exchange, increase the mutual knowledge and understanding, and strengthen the collaboration in practice. Therefore, the master classes gather a group of experts complemented by local representatives of different professions involved in dementia care (physicians, psychologists, nurses, pharmacists). The format of the workshops is interactive and aims to engage the target groups in workshops and roundtables on interprofessional management of dementia.

The Zagreb Master Class on Dementia gathered a group of experts of different professions involved in dementia care in the Danube region and other Balkan countries. The group of experts discussed common gaps in dementia care in the Danube region and other Balkan countries and solutions to approach these.

INDEED Project could provide such solutions by increasing dementia competence in the Danube region.

 

Lea Pfäffel, INDEED Project Manager gave an outline of the INDEED project highlighting the pilot actions that are planned in Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania. Zvezdan Pirtosek explained the workshops which are the key part of the pilot actions. On the first day, the workshops will focus on CAMPUS and CONNECT, on the second day the focus will be COACH. For CAMPUS, participants will be representatives of institutions, e. g. associations of physicians, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers. For CONNECT, participants will be representatives of health and social care providers, and patient organisations. For COACH, participants will be representatives of service providers, care facilities, start-ups and commercial chambers. The workshops will be combined with / embedded in dementia action days which will be organised in conjunction with local patient and carer organisations.
