DANUrB - STAKEHOLDER MEETING IN CALAFAT

21-12-2018

On December 13, 2018, the DANUrB project partner National Institute of Research Development in Tourism (INCDT) organized a meeting with local stakeholders at the Cultural House in Calafat in order to identify the main issues within the local cultural heritage and relevant implemented projects that are considered as good practices in the field of cultural heritage valorisation.

The primary objective of the meeting was to share experiences of local stakeholders in order to be more involved in the DANUrB strategy. During this meeting each participant presented the key objects relevant for his research while being highly representative for Calafat or some specific issues identified on the local level that can be solved through involving them in the DANUrB project. As for the second objective, the strategy / concept for the city of Calafat was set up, which contains the main themes of the projects that could be implemented. This meeting provided an opportunity to disseminate the DANUrB booklet for stakeholders and introduce the Pocket Guide application for the Calafat Vidin area. Further discussed topics included also facilities that can be considered very interesting for foreign visitors but also implementable at the local level, or the specification of things and places that are the reason for interested parties why they do love Calafat.

Such events and activities are crucial for better understanding the specific issues of cultural heritage at local level, presenting main results achieved during project implementation and discussing with stakeholders how they can benefit from these results, thus creating an open relationship between the local community and the public administration.
