MOVECO - Piloting Workshop “THINK CIRCULAR!“ in Augsburg
10-12-2018
What is Circular Economy and how can we implement it? – these questions were discussed by seventeen participants during a MOVECO workshop in Augsburg (Germany) on the 27th of November 2018.
In the first part of the workshop, the MOVECO staff members of UCB (Umweltcluster Bayern), Elisabeth Beer and Christina Zegowitz, presented the MOVECO project with its tools and platforms as well as the different principles and schools of thought of Circular Economy. Important aspects like product design, longevity and recyclability of products were highlighted and new business models like renting instead of buying were discussed with the participants.
In the second part of the workshop, the practical implementation of closed loops was intensively discussed during a round-table discussion. Dr. Andrea Berglehner (OmniCert Umweltgutachter GmbH) answered questions on Cradle-to-Cradle® certification. The idea of circularity was illustrated by the introduction of sustainable products for a healthy office at the round-table of Dr. Sonja Eser (SinnenWandel). And last but not least, Peter Schmeußer and Andreas Seckler (PDR Recycling GmbH + Co. KG) presented the complexity of recycling procedures of PU foam cans, HP printing cartridges and abrasives with the help of illustrative materials. These interactive round-table discussions enabled intensive exchange and discussions among the participants.
