DANUrB - DANUrB project was presented at the Policy Dialogue meeting in Zagreb, September 26, 2018

The DANUrB project was introduced at the international Policy Dialogue meeting and workshop - "Competitiveness and Innovation for Long-term Transnational Cooperation in the Danube Region in the Field of Bio-Economy" – that was organized in the framework of the international partnership within the project of "Transnational Cooperation for the Transformation of Knowledge into Sustainable Products and Services for the Sustainable Danube Society of the Future - Made in the Danube". It was conducted by the Development Agency of Vukovar - Srijem County (RA VSŽ) and in cooperation with 18 partners from 10 countries. With the support of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Crafts, a workshop was held on 26 September 2018 at the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds in Zagreb, Croatia.

This action was primarily addressed to representatives of the priority areas coordinators of the Danube Strategy, local authorities and decision-makers as well as other stakeholders in entrepreneurship, research and development, science and all relevant stakeholders whose business concerns bio economy.

In the first part of the workshop, representatives of the Ministries, i.e. members of the working groups coordinating the implementation of priority areas of the Danube Strategy (PA2, PA4, PA6, PA7, PA8, PA9) presented the latest information on activities and implementation of the Action Plan within the Danube Strategy. The second part was devoted to the projects funded under the Danube Transnational Program 2014-2020, with particular emphasis on bio-economic projects.

  

Helena Valentić, DANUrB project manager of the PP Vukovar – Srijem County, gave a presentation about partner’s activities related to EU funds, and focused on the achievements within the DANUrB project, which is currently being implemented. In accordance with the topic of the workshop, a special emphasis was put on the possibilities for the development of bio-economics in the Danube area offered by the project. Participants showed much interest in the “Danube urban brand” and the social and economic benefits it could potentially bring.
