Linking Danube - at the 17th EUSDR Steering Group Meeting, Belgrade (11 October)

30-10-2018

LinkingDanube was invited to present the Concept for multimodal travel information systems for the Danube Region at the 17th Steering Group Meeting of the EUDSR Priority Area 1B.

Franc Zepic (Ministry of Infrastructure, Slovenia) and Miodrag Poledica (Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Serbia) invited in their role as coordinators of Priority Area 1B (rail, road and air links)  the Steering Group Members (representatives of the competent ministries) to discuss current developments in the Danube Region. Besides the relevant INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme projects related to  »Sustainable Mobility« (Pole 6)  were invited to present their first results: LinkingDanube, CityWalk, CHESTNUT, eGUTS, RADAR, TRANSGREEN, Transdanube.Pearls presented their works and analysed their contribution to reach the EUSDR targets.

The LinkingDanube Concept was followed with high interest and it was recognised that improving travel information services in the Danube Region is an important subject for the EUSDR Action Plan.

From the presentations of the INTERREG projects, it was revealed that the projects tackle 3 out of 6 targets of the EUSDR Priority Area 1B. Therefore, the projects decided to provide policy recommendations for the targets in order to give an input to the EUSDR Priority Area 1B (for the next steps and action plans of the Priority Area 1B). The recommendations will be completed by the end of April 2019.
