CHESTNUT - 7th Project Meeting in Budapest

29-09-2018

The next project meeting is taking place between October 1st and October 4th 2018 in Budapest. During the 4-day event the project partners will present and discuss the results of their work.

CHESTNUT contributes to develop better-connected, interoperable, safe and environmentally friendly transport systems in the functional urban areas of the Danube Region by the integration of sustainable means of transport.

The increasing volume of motorized transport has great negative effects on people's health and on the environment. Car oriented city development is associated with social erosion which threatens urban life. Moreover, inadequate accessibility within urban areas causes equity problems.

The negative effects of mass motorization are inevitable. It’s time to act. The CHESTNUT partnership aims to address these challenges by drafting sustainable urban mobility plans (SUMP). The partnership covers eight countries, six cities, five local and regional development agencies, a business support network and a scientific-educational institution.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
