MOVECO - Developing a Transnational Strategy on Circular Economy for the Danube region

20-09-2018

At the end of August, MOVECO project partners attended a 2-day staff exchange in Belgrade (Serbia).

On 28-29 August, a staff exchange was organized and hosted by MOVECO project partner Mihajlo Pupin Institute in Belgrade (PUPIN) in Serbia. Representatives of partners Europa Consortium Non-profit Ltd. (ECN) from Hungary, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS), and Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (MESP) attended the meeting.

The hosting partners from PUPIN presented the activities of Mihajlo Pupin Institute, which is a leading R&D institution in information and communication technologies in Serbia. We also reviewed and discussed the state of the transnational strategy on circular economy in the Danube region, being developed by the Slovenian Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, that seeks to develop a new approach to waste management in the countries of Danube region under the auspices of eco innovation and circular economy.

The other part of the staff exchange was devoted to preparation of the three cross-country road maps. This project activity is co-ordinated by the Hungarian NGO Europa Consortium and its aim is to implement the strategy in the project’s three innovation groups of countries. After this successful staff exchange we look forward to the next major mile stone of the project, a partner meeting in Sofia where draft version of the Strategy and the Road Maps will be released for the MOVECO partners and the stakeholders.
