10-09-2018
Within the context of disseminating the projects results and connecting them with other relevant initiatives in the area, in the period 5-6th September, GREEN DANUBE Project was presented by ACTEDJ team during the AER Summit Black Sea-Danube Synergies – a Region of opportunities for Europe, the event being organized in Odessa by the Assembly of European Regions, German Marshall Fund of the United States and Odessa Regional Council.
The event was focused on identifying the challenges and opportunities that the Black Sea Region and Danube Region stakeholders are facing in their road to enable an environment of sustainable development. Topics like “Black Sea and Danube region – vital link for peace and prosperity in Europe”, “Green growth as the power of Ecological Economy” and “Reinforcement of the Economic Cooperation in the Black Sea Region” raised a lot of questions, in the meantime enabling opportunities for cooperation and partnerships.
Maritime and inland waterway transport represents a direct link between the Danube region and Black Sea regions in terms of strategic planning, common challenges that can be transformed into common initiatives and assumed ownership. For the AER stakeholders, it was an opportunity to connect the dots between the two strategies in terms of joint efforts for increasing awareness on what the ecological economy can mean for both public and private sector.
