DBS Gateway Region - Regional Action Plans for all partner regions

30-08-2018

Which projects will be most relevant in the near future to strengthen the role of waterway transport and to better connect ports with their hinterland?

Each of the project partners answered this question for their region in a Regional Action Plan (RAP), taking into account recent developments of ports, cities and regions. The aim of these Regional Action Plans is to identify the most feasible actions and measures to tackle the ports’ and regions’ big challenges as part of the whole picture of the DBS Gateway Region.

By focussing on concrete regional actions and specifying timelines for implementation, responsibilities and necessary steps to be taken, the partners had the chance to state their region’s needs in terms of infrastructure, services, legal framework, business development, innovation/technology, marketing and organisation/cooperation. In the following months, each region will choose one of these actions and take it to the next step towards implementation.

Additionally to single actions per region, the partners identified several recommendations that address the DBS Gateway Region. The ten most important measures are covered in the Cooperation Action Plan (CAP).
