13-06-2018

From May 22 to 26 the artist collective Irene Lucas and Christoph Euler implemented the Expanded Garden microlab at Gymnasium in Štúrovo, Slovakia. After a short introduction of the DANUrB project and local partners involved in a collaboration such as Municipality of Štúrovo, Kiskosar Food Coop, Stevo Perutek who represented the local fishing association, local food producer Evá Skuliba, and Kaleidoszkop, students were invited to think about‚ making and taking place, but at the same time, preserving local networks and traditional knowledge of food production. During the workshop students were divided into three teams ehich worked on mapping, solar-cooking (preparing lunch) and filming. For the upcoming days all teams rotated. On the last day, students visited the local partners‘ sites and workshops and all participating stakeholders were asked to design a pop-up microlab concept in the frame of an exhibition or summer camp. Follow-up program measure is still under the development. The next Expanded Garden session will take place in Ottensheim / Upper Austria. Stay tuned!
