EcoInn Danube - Czechs help protect nature in Bali

Bali is tropical paradise for many people from all over the world. But now there is a huge problem with plastic waste. Indonesia is the second largest plastic producer after China.

 
Upcycled materials

Mrs. Martina Cerna and Mr. Lukas Cerny were a successful tattoos from Prague. They used to surfing in Bali. They started new life thousands kilometres far from Czech because they felt in love with this place. They are using principles of upcycling in their production such as houses from containers, lamps from plastics and old metal tools. Another information about this project is here.

 
Joshua District

Except these upcycled products Mrs. and Mr. Cerny created the Joshua District. It is a place consinting of coffee shop, gallery, place for musicans and artists because all these areas connects people and promote principles of upcycled material. Green School

The Green School is organized by Begawan foundation. It is open every weekend for local children. Specialists from Begawan foundation teach local children about the nature to identify endangered species of animals and plants and how to care for them on environmental. Indonesia is the second largest plastic producer in the world. Crazy is that every minute about 6 tons of plastic is dumped into the ocean. Indonesian people doesn´t know anything about recycling things. So they burn the plastic waste or throw it away in front of their houses.

 
Green Books

Mr. Petr Hindrich founded Green Books, a non-profit organization that recalls children´s books about nature at school in Bali. Petr is working with a lot of people not only from Indonesia.
