SMART FACTORY HUB - Long Night of Research (April 13), PROFACTOR

12-04-2018

At the Long Night of Research (April 13), PROFACTOR will have a robot compete against the visitors in the popular Connect Four game. It is only one of a total of ten stations at which visitors to the Technology House in the Steyr can get an idea of what the future of the working world will look like.

Andreas Pichler, CTO: "With this Connect Four robot we playfully show what cognitive machines will achieve. But much more research is needed before a robot is half as intelligent as a hunting dog."

The other nine stations in the research company's laboratories also show what the future will look like in the digital factory. In the Cognitive Factory Lab, which focuses on intelligent assistance systems, visitors can see how the robot helps to assemble lightweight aircraft components. In addition, state-of-the-art 3D printers can be observed at work and inkjet printers, which do not print on letter paper, but with special inks electrical conductive tracks.
