The first Global Recycling Day, an initiative of the Bureau of International Recycling, will take place on March 18th, 2018. The MOVECO project would like to encourage you to think about this topic and get involved – not only on that day, but also in the future.

What can you do yourself? Every little contribution matters!

• Use your own reusable coffee cup instead of throwaway coffee-to-go cups.
• Bring your own shopping bag in order to avoid plastic bags.
• Think about repairing items instead of buying a new product in order to use items as long as possible.
• Try to produce as little waste as you can – e.g. by avoiding unnecessary packaging waste.
• Sell or donate things you do not want or need any more so that someone else can reuse it.
• Get creative by repurposing: e.g. when your favourite t-shirt does not fit any longer, it can be turned into a patchwork blanket, a pillowcase or a bag.
• Take care that you dispose of products in the correct way so – find out about your local recycling possibilities.
