21-02-2018

Last week SENSES partners visited Ceske Budejovice for their 3rd Seminar & Study-visit. Partners had a chance to get to know local social business and meet the owners. Most of the social business are sustainable and some even support other social initiatives.

Now, we would like to present each one. Firstly, the Pražírna Drahonice social business.

Pražírna Drahonice is a coffee roasting house located in Drahonice (South Bohemia Region, the Czech Republic). Their main products are roasted coffee, syrups, cakes and their own perfect lemonade! Main source of their income comes from selling roasted coffee to big companies. They have plenty kinds of coffee so it is sometimes difficult to find the favorite one! We certainly find ours – it`s India Moonsooned (100% Arabica). We would like to thanks to Mr. Václav Prokop (owner) for the tour and answers to all our questions.

Secondly, the Domov sv. Anežky (Home of St. Agnes) social enterprise. Domov sv. Anežky is a social enterprise in which people with dissabilities live and work. They make famous Merino wool products from sheep that they feed on their ranch. Wool partly comes from local suppliers as well. They also make other textile products and wood products.

Thirdly, the Materiální banka, who reuse rejected textile materials and collect furniture for those in need. Currently they are looking for bigger space in Ceske Budejovice so if you have some recomendations, please feel free to contact them.
