On December 14, 2017 the TUS Open Innovation Lab - BULGARIA was inaugurated in the presence of the former President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev, the rector of the Technical University of Sofia Prof. Georgi Mihov, the former rector of TUS Prof. Marin Hristov, vice-rector of Learning Activity and Accreditation and project leader of DA-SPACE Bulgaria Prof. Lubomir Dimitrov, members of the laboratory team and many guests. The tape was cut and the lab was thoroughly inspected. After that all guests headed for the conference hall of "Vitosha" Hotel, where Rosen Plevneliev and Georgi Mihov held long welcoming speeches about the whole project and wished success to the program. Then the project was explained in detail by Assoc. Prof. Pancho Tomov and Mr. Georgi Voutev, all the challenges were explained by senior assistant Vladislav Ivanov, PhD, and additional details of 3 of the projects were explained by the PhD student and member of the DA-SPACE project MEng. Kiril Nikolov and the students Angel Alexandrov, Alexander Stoychev and Radoslav Madjarov. At the end the word was then given to representatives of some of the companies to express their satisfaction with their work with the students and the results of their joint work. The program finished with a cocktail party.
