On 5-6th December 2017 DANTE partners gathered in Galati, Romania to participate in the 2nd project consortium meeting and the 2nd Transnational Workshop. 

The First Year Review of the project progress was made during the first event with the positive feedback of the Project Officer. Work has started on almost all activities and is now continuing according to the project schedule; the first results have already been released: the Transnational IWT barrier reporting tool was launched; Report on the procedures and administrative barriers was elaborated, the outcomes of the first round of national working table meetings were presented. 

A wrap-up of the 1st Transnational Working Group meeting was made as a start of the second event. Discussions continued on the five thematic areas where administrative barriers are most evidently reducing efficiency of IWT operations. A snapshot from the electronic barrier reporting tool was presented which is now available in 8 languages and is easily accessible by all waterway users on-line: https://www.prodanube.eu/administrativebarriers. There are over 100 cases reported via the instrument and these are currently being processed and evaluated by the DANTE experts.

The next year´s programme of key project events will include:  

• 3rd Transnational Workshop – to be held 24 April 2018 in Karlsruhe
• 2nd round of national working table meetings
• 4th Transnational Workshop – to be held in June 2018 in Bratislava
