Transdanube.Pearls - First regional Workshop in the Upper Austrian Danube Region

08-11-2017

On 7 November 2017, the first regional Transdanube.Pearls Workshop of the Upper Austrian Danube region took place in Linz. 32 Stakeholders from the mobility and tourism sector, as well as representatives from municipalities and their tourist boards followed the invitation from the WGD Danube Upper Austrian Ltd. and attended the Workshop.

The main aim of the meeting, was to make the Stakeholders aware of the relevance of sustainable mobility in tourism and to exchange ideas to find sustainable mobility & tourism solutions for the region along the Danube. Therefore an external expert team from the company regionalis presented the first results of the sustainable regional tourism and mobility plan (SRTMP), which included strengths and deficiencies of the current situation. This outcomes formed the basis for the discussion and the first collection of ideas, which actions could be done in the future to improve. The deliverables of the Workshop will be taken into account for a possible implementation and will be discussed in more detail at the 2nd Workshop in April 2018, after the SRTMP is finalised.
