Transdanube.Pearls - First regional workshop on the elaboration of a regional tourism and mobility concept organized by RARIS

25-10-2017

On 16 October 2017, RARIS organized the first workshop with stakeholders from the tourism and mobility sector. Subject of this workshop was the elaboration of a SRTMP (“Sustainable Regional Tourism and Mobility Plan”) which marks an important project output to foster the concept of sustainable mobility in tourism along the Danube. This plan will be elaborated by each project partner.

The SRTMP follows the same methodology and logic as the SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan) but addresses the entire region and incorporates the concept of sustainable mobility in tourism. For this purpose, RARIS invited stakeholders from the tourism and mobility sector to present the project and to discuss the common standards that were approved during the last partner meeting in Ruse in October 2017. Furthermore, they explained the SRTMP and the structure of this concept and received large support from the municipality of Kladovo for the elaboration and implementation of this plan.

Along with the stakeholders, the following steps for a successful development of the concept have been elaborated. Moreover, working groups have been set up for addressing different tasks and topics for the elaboration of goals and measures that will be implemented in the course of the SRTMP. Members of these working groups will be representatives of Kladovo Municipality, the Tourist organization of Kladovo and members of the private sectors such as hotels and transport companies from Kladovo.
